About Me
I was born and raised in Mar del Plata, Argentina. I am an illustrator, comic artist, and creator of my own stories. I began my career publishing work in Fierro, one of the most influential magazines in Argentine comics. Since then, I have worked with publishers and companies in several countries, creating comics, editorial illustrations, concept art, and artwork for video games.
Throughout my career, I have contributed to both individual projects and creative teams, adapting to different styles, storytelling requirements, and production workflows. My experience ranges from traditional illustration to digital production, with a specialization in digital coloring for the US market.
Artistic Background and Training
I studied under comic artist Enrique Breccia and at the Martín Malharro School of Art in Mar del Plata, where I later worked as a teacher. Sharing my knowledge is a way of bringing things full circle: passing on what I have learned and helping those who are beginning their own journey in the world of illustration.
My background combines a knowledge of traditional techniques with an ongoing exploration of digital tools. During my years of study, I learned to make my own drawing ink and experimented with pigments and traditional materials. Although I now work digitally, I continue to develop my own brushes and adapt my tools and workflows to the needs of each project. My goal is to preserve the quality and character of the image throughout the creative process.
Professional Experience
Early in my career, I illustrated children’s books for Chickpea Books in the United States. I later worked on projects for various American agencies and companies, focusing on character design, concept art, and the creation of environments and landscapes for video games.
At the same time, I continued developing my work in comics, both in drawing and digital coloring, as well as in editorial illustration. This combination of experiences has allowed me to work across different areas of the visual arts industry and adapt to a wide range of artistic and storytelling needs.
Since 2019, I have been part of the illustration team at Dream Games, contributing to the visual development of video games such as Royal Match and Royal Kingdom, among other projects. My work includes developing ideas, producing sketches, and creating illustrations that become part of each game’s visual identity, in collaboration with the teams involved in production.
Comics and Personal Projects
Luciana Giuglietti began to take shape in 2008, when she appeared as a recurring character in my personal drawings. In 2010, I published my first professional comic written and drawn by me, marking the beginning of her journey as the protagonist of my stories. In 2012, her adventures began appearing in European anthologies, and over time, the project grew into Crónicas del Misterio (Chronicles of Mystery).
I am also developing En las Tinieblas (In the Darkness), a horror comic series aimed at adult readers. Both projects are central to my work as a creator, allowing me to explore mystery, horror, and the possibilities of visual storytelling.
My comics have appeared in publications such as Cthulhu, published by Diábolo Ediciones in Spain; Skorpio and Lanciostory, published by Aurea Editoriale in Italy; and Ultramar, published by Spiral Editorial in Argentina.
Publishing and Editorial Work
In 2010, I founded Spiral Editorial, the first publishing house dedicated to comics in Mar del Plata, where I serve as editor-in-chief. Through Spiral, we publish books and magazines with a strong focus on print quality and design, providing opportunities for both established artists and emerging talent.
In 2015, I created Ultramar, a magazine published by Spiral Editorial, for which I also illustrated the cover. The project became an important milestone in the publisher’s history.
Awards and Inspiration
Throughout my career, I have participated in art exhibitions and comic conventions and received various awards and distinctions, including the Gold Medal in Drawing.
I have traveled to different parts of the world and encountered cultures that have broadened my perspective. Their stories, traditions, and mythologies continue to inspire my interest in building worlds and telling stories through images.
